Remodeling planning reviews:

According to the Parkmead subdivision regulations and ordinances, the neighborhood is supposed to have an architecture committee that reviews and approves new house and remodel plans. As of April 2021 the PCA is not currently instituting the architecture committee review. We are asking that neighbors planning to build or remodel, at a minimum, verbally share their plans with their immediate neighbors, and discuss any potential issues, such as construction timing, shading, sight lines, etc. This helps us avoid having to re-institute the architecture committee review process.

However, if your address falls in the unincorporated Contra Costa County area, you are required to submit a letter of approval from the Parkmead Community Association to the Contra Costa County planning division. Please send your request, with your address, to parkmead@parkmead.org, and we will be happy to provide a letter referencing your project for the county. The PCA reserves the right to re-institute architecture committee reviews at any time for any project, as necessary, to minimize architecture-related conflicts between neighbors in Parkmead.
